Time for One Measly Dollar to shut down operations, at least as a blog. I may put something else here at some point. I really like the name and my original idea of getting a bunch of people to each give me a dollar (who wouldn’t like that?) so who knows what will happen.
But I have moved the majority of what I’ve written here to my new site which you can find at PhilLeitch.com.

If five people sign up for the free trial month and then pay for one month of GameFly (only $9.95) I will get 6 months of GameFly for free. Of course you can do the same once you join.
My experience with GameFly has been so-so, mainly due to the fact that we live about the farthest you could from the shipping centers. With Netflix we get movies within two days, sometimes GameFly takes a week (or more) before we see a replacement game. My understanding is that this shipping problem is less of a problem the closer you are and there have been times we got a new game within a few days. And this is why I want to try to get 6 months free from referrals, to try and balance out what we’ve been paying for the slow delivery times.
The service itself is great. I’ve always had a problem flat-out buying games the moment they were released (and consequently have ended up with more than my fair share of junkers). So being able to rent and keep as long as we want is great. We’ve learned that some games were worth owning (Raving Rabbids) while other games were sent back the same day we got them (Sonic and the Secret something somethings).
We usually try to have one Wii game and one DS game out at the same time and a few times we’ve picked up a PS2 game. For the most part though it’s mainly been our private stock of Nintendo games.
You can try it out and I’m pretty sure if you pay for at least one month after the trial period that I will get a referral credit. Hell, if you really hate it after that first month and you show up on my referral list as having joined I will personally reimburse you somehow.

I just got done spending about five of the last six hours playing Hi-Lo on Moola. The game itself is moderately okay for casual gaming, but that much time spent playing it in that amount of time might be a bit much. Got to spin the Booster wheel plenty of times but never got more than $.30 from it.
My wife’s largest wheel bonus was $.50. She did great playing Hi-Lo though and won a little more than $10.
Thanks to those of you that accepted my invitations. I got an additional 100 invites so if anybody wants a Moola invite, click the link.
I promise I won’t post anything about Moola for at least a month, unless I win a bunch of money…so really you don’t have much to worry about.
Yes sir, Moola gave me 100 Moola invites today. Of course if you wait until tomorrow to get invited you will get to start with $.32 in your account instead of $.01.
If you don’t know what Moola is it is a site where you can play Flash-based games to win money. The thing is they provide the money and normally start you out with a penny. Each time you win you double whatever you played for. If you ever lose everything, Moola is nice enough to give you another penny. Sometimes you get lucky and receive a Booster worth more than a penny to start over with.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, they are running a Booster Blitz promotion where anybody invited once it starts (around 5pm I think) will get $.32 to start with instead of the penny. But if you want to get started today you can get a Moola invite from the link above. Otherwise, leave your email in the comments and I’ll invite you tomorrow.
Sorry to post so much in one day but what in the world got in the vikings water last night? I fully expected LT to take the vaunted Vikes rush defense and expose it for what it is. Seems like since nobody bothers to run against them that they would of course give up few yards on the ground. But the way the defense is playing today, wow.
Adrian Peterson is the one good thing Vikings fans will have to thank Childress for after he is gone.
Okay, now Taylor just had a big run. Those poor Chargers fans, to get beat like a little bitch by the Vikings has to be tough to take. First those fires and now this.
I really love my AppleTV. I picked it up on a lark while browsing around Best Buy one afternoon with my wife. She made the mistake of telling me “go ahead, buy one” after I had joked about wanting one.
First rule of being married to me, unless you mean it don’t tell me to “buy one” when we’re talking Apple products.
Steve Jobs has called the AppleTV a hobby or something silly like that and since the announcement of it Apple has seemed to be wrapped up with the silly iPhone. I think there has been one software update (adding YouTube) and a hardware update (larger drives, big deal I don’t even bother syncing anything) since it was made available.
Please, give us a software update and add some new features. Heck, I don’t even really care what they are to be honest. I’d love to rent movies and tv shows directly from the AppleTV interface. I’d love to purchase games to play on it. I’d love to do a lot of things with it. But like I said, I’d take any sort of software update just so I know that you haven’t given up on the damn thing.
I like it so much that if the cash flow allows (and Jess says “go ahead” again) I’d pick up a refurbished unit to replace the DVD player for the treadmill.
Hi. My name is Phil Leitch, thanks for dropping by. SuprGlu is pretty interesting and I should really play with it more than I do. It did save me at one point though because my database for One Measly Dollar got borked but I was able to recover all my entries because I had them here on SuprGlu. So thanks SuprGlu!
